Video transcript

Sonia (mother of Layla and Aisha): Okay we’re going to prepare some lunch for tomorrow? And we’ll freeze it up ready?

Layla: Yeah.

Aisha: Yeah.

Sonia: Yep, so you’s want to help?

Layla: Yeah.

Aisha: Yeah.

Sonia: Get everything ready. Rub together. So we’re going to drain off the tuna. Layla you can do the tuna so just…

Layla: Go like that.

Sonia: You know what to do. Yeah. You pass the mayonnaise.

Aisha: Mayonnaise.

Sonia: Beautiful. Aisha, you can add some corn in, and you can add the mayonnaise in. So grab the mayonnaise. Please.

Layla: Do I do it now?

Sonia: Well done. Good girl. That’s the way. Well done.

Layla: That should be enough.

Sonia: That’s it. Beautiful. You grab the bread. Well done. Grab the spoon. And you put the topping in. There we go, you can do that one yourself. Alright. So why we make these lunches the night before is to save us time in the morning. So we get everything ready, we put them in the freezer and for the next week we can pull them out the night before or even the morning and they’ll be ready to go so there you go, like that. So you grab your fingers and you wrap them up carefully like that. And the tuna’s very good for you. And the corn is good for you too. And then we’ll just put it into the container.

Aisha: And get the lid.

Sonia: Get the lid. And close it. Beautiful. So do you want to do another one?

Layla: Yeah.

Aisha: Yeah.

Sonia: Yep. And I think today because we’ve done the tuna, we might do some cheese sandwiches so then you’ve got a bit of a variety for the week. So there you go, you can, yep, we’ll find it. I’ll open one up too together. You can roll this one up yourself. You can roll that one up yourself. And which one do you want for the morning? Which one do you think you would like in the morning? Tuna wrap or the cheese wrap?

Layla: Tuna.

Aisha: Tuna.

Sonia: Tuna. With the corn and the mayonnaise? Well that’s a good choice. It’s very very good for you. I’ll grab two, you’ve got two.

Aisha: I’ve got two.

Sonia: So we’re going to freeze them so we can pull them out in the morning. Saves us some time having to rush around. A healthy lunch is ready to go. Can you please grab your ice block so we can put it into the freezer and then tomorrow morning when we grab the lunches out, we’ll put it into the lunch boxes so it can keep it nice and cool. You’ve saved me some time which is great, so thank you very much.
