Peter (father of 4): I probably read it somewhere in a book, I think, the story about hoarding broccoli or making broccoli appear to be the most valuable commodity in the kitchen, and see if our young boys would fall for that trick, or start to think about it the same way that other kids think about lollies, and they actually did.
Peter: [to kids] Remember, broccoli’s so nice, it’s only for the grownups. Only for the grownups.
Girl: No.
Peter: [to kids] I’m not going to let you have any of my broccoli. What are you going to do? Ah, you steal my broccoli away. Broccoli was only for the grownups. Hey, Robert, what’d you do?
