    Harmony Week 
    Harmony Week includes 21 March, which is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It’s a week for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity, inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

    National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters’ Council (NEMBC)
    The NEMBC advocates for and supports ethnic and multicultural community broadcasting and media diversity in Australia. It tries to help people connect with their ancestry, language and culture. It promotes multiculturalism and aims to counter racism in Australia.

    SBS Radio
    SBS is Australia’s multicultural broadcaster. SBS Radio broadcasts in 74 different languages. Its channels and programs offer news, sport, music and more.

    Australian Capital Territory

    ACT Bilingual Education Alliance (ACTBEA)
    ACTBEA is a not-for-profit community group that supports bilingualism in the Canberra region. ACTBEA promotes family-based bilingualism as well as formal bilingual education programs.

    New South Wales

    City of Sydney – Multicultural communities
    The City of Sydney offers various multicultural programs and initiatives, including festivals, events and specific services. For example, the City’s library network has several community language collections.

    Ethnic Communities’ Council (ECC) of NSW
    The ECC is the peak body for all culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in New South Wales. It undertakes a range of activities to improve services for members of the state’s ethnic communities.

    Queensland

    Queensland Government Department of Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs – Multicultural Resource Directory
    The Directory offers a comprehensive listing of more than 900 key organisations with an ethnic community focus in Queensland. These include media outlets, schools, community, non-government and government organisations and agencies, and migrant service organisations.

    South Australia

    Multicultural Communities Council of SA
    The Multicultural Communities Council of SA is the peak body for cultural and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in South Australia.

    Tasmania

    Tasmanian Government  – Multicultural Access Point (MAP)
    The MAP site is a directory of information and services for migrants and former humanitarian entrants in Tasmania, including information on interpreting services, housing and accommodation, health, community, education, money, transport and settlement support.

    Victoria

    Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (ECCV)
    The ECCV is the peak advocacy body for ethnic and multicultural communities in Victoria. It links ethnic communities, government and the wider community in Victoria and promotes a just, fair and inclusive community in which all Victorians can participate.

    Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC)
    The VMC is the voice of Victoria’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and is the main link between them and the Victorian Government. The VMC’s advice helps the Government develop policy and deliver services to Victoria’s culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse society.

    Western Australia

    Bilingual Families Perth
    Bilingual Families Perth is a not-for-profit network of linguistically diverse people in Western Australia. The network connects and supports over 500 families and individuals from more than 40 language backgrounds. It also works with professionals who share information on bilingualism.

    Government of Western Australia Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries – Office of Multicultural Interests
    The Office of Multicultural Interests advises the WA Government and provides information, advice, funding, training and support that helps communities maintain and share their diverse cultures and participate actively in all aspects of life in Western Australia.
