Story

Rubble (voice of Lucien Duncan-Reid) has been a good pup all year and dreams of getting a laser drill from Santa for Christmas. But when Santa gets sick and can’t deliver the presents, Rubble is heartbroken. The rest of the PAW Patrol remind him that Christmas isn’t just about presents – it’s also about being with the people you love. But Rubble still feels disappointed.

Meanwhile, Mayor Humdinger is fed up with always being on the naughty list, so he hatches a plan to travel to the North Pole and steal all the presents. He tricks Rubble into helping by saying that they’re going to give Santa soup to help him recover so he can still deliver the presents, including Rubble’s laser drill. When they arrive, Mayor Humdinger reveals his true intentions and takes the presents.

Can the PAW Patrol retrieve the stolen presents and save Christmas?

Ideas to discuss with your children

Based on the popular Nickelodeon TV series, A PAW Patrol Christmas is an animated movie with plenty of musical numbers. Note that the cinema release also features a bonus episode – ‘A Jr. Patrollers’ Christmas’.

A PAW Patrol Christmas is aimed primarily at a preschool audience, but it has some mildly scary scenes, so we recommend parental guidance for children aged under 5 years.

The main message from A PAW Patrol Christmas is that the true meaning of Christmas is about being with the people you love, not about getting presents.

Values in A PAW Patrol Christmas that you could reinforce with your children include friendship, selflessness, teamwork and courage.

A PAW Patrol Christmas could also give you the chance to talk with your children about the real-life consequences of selfish behaviour. For example, Mayor Humdinger’s selfish actions hurt other people’s feelings and put him and others in danger.
