Keep baby healthy with breastmilk and health checks

Breast is best.

Feed when baby is hungry, as often as needed. For newborn babies, this is usually 7-8 times a day.

Take baby for regular health checks.
Food and drink by age

Breast or infant formula only.
No water before 6 months.

Add smooth or finely mashed food, then roughly mashed food, and then chopped food.
No cow’s milk as a drink before 12 months.

Share the family meal.
Feeding, health and hygiene: things to remember

Make feeding babies and kids the top priority.

Wash hands often and clean the kitchen to stop sickness.

Remember to look after mum too.
