James Dromey

James is the Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Growth Strategy at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), where he leads a newly formed unit focused on driving greater impact from the Institute’s work, and identifying new pathways to growth that will help build long-term sustainability. Prior to this James was Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary at MCRI for 5 years, during which time the Institute doubled in size.

James has over 20 years’ experience in health and medical research, from research scientist, through to leadership roles in strategy, operations, innovation, commercialization & impact. James has played a role in founding a number of businesses in the health and medical research sector, two of which have products on market.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Raising Children Network and Prota Therapeutics, an unlisted spin-out from MCRI.
