Frank Oberklaid

Professor Frank Oberklaid AM is a board director of Raising Children Network and an internationally recognised authority and advocate for children’s health.

He was the founding Director of the Centre for Community Child Health at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Victoria for 25 years and is now co-group leader of Policy and Equity at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. Frank is an Honorary Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne.

Frank has focused on helping children with developmental and behavioural problems through research-based programs. Frank founded and leads the Mental Health in Primary Schools Program (MHiPS). He was co-chair of an expert working group tasked with developing the National Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy in 2021, and more recently co-chaired the Thriving Kids Advisory Group with the Australian Government Minister for Health.
