This is the parenting truth that has driven a new national awareness campaign by Australia’s go-to digital destination for trustworthy, free parenting information – Raising Children Network.
The national campaign, which launches today in time for Safer Internet Day (February 10), lets parents know that Raising Children Network is a safe place to go online for trustworthy, independent and up-to-date parenting information for families with children aged right up to 18 years.
Raising Children Network Director Derek McCormack points out that from social media ‘parenting hacks’ to AI-generated answers, Australian parents are being flooded with advice - and much of it isn’t checked, tested or trustworthy.
However, the free tips and tools on its website – raisingchildren.net.au – and Raising Children Network social channels help parents and carers decode whether their newborn needs a nap or a nappy change, is hungry or hot as well as providing tips for building a strong connection with bubs in those hazy first weeks and months.
“Parents are under pressure and often searching for quick answers, but the volume of advice online can be overwhelming,” McCormack said. “When it comes to children’s health and wellbeing, information from social media or AI can be misleading or simply wrong. This campaign is a reminder that trustworthy, free support is just a click away.”
