For decades, Play School has been inspiring Australian children to learn through play, while Raising Children Network has been providing families with trusted parenting information.

Now, a partnership between Raising Children Network and ABC Kids Early Education is extending the much-loved television program’s content to help parents and carers support their child’s learning and development at home.

The Growing Together video series brings together trusted tips and ideas from Raising Children Network and beloved Play School moments to help parents understand children’s development in the toddler and preschool years.

Hosted by Play School presenters Luke Carroll and Leah Vandenberg, the videos cover topics like resilience, friendships, early literacy, emotions, community and more. Each video highlights how these ideas are explored in Play School and offers practical ideas for parents to continue this at home.

Raising Children Network Director Derek McCormack said the Growing Together project brought together 2 organisations committed to supporting children’s wellbeing, learning and development.

‘We know parents and carers are looking for trusted, practical ways to support their children’s development. By pairing Play School moments that families already know and love with Raising Children Network’s evidence-based guidance, the Growing Together videos demonstrate how families can turn everyday play, conversations and routines into opportunities for learning and connection.

‘Families have welcomed Big Ted and his friends into their homes for generations. Through this new video series, they’ll help parents and carers extend the Play School fun into everyday learning and play.’

The video series will begin screening on Raising Children Network’s Facebook and Instagram channels on 14 July 2026.

The full series of videos are available on the ABC Kids website, and accompanying Raising Children Network resources can be found at Raising Children Network – Growing Together: child development tips and links.
