Every child develops at their own pace, so it helps to know what to expect.

That is the key message from Raising Children Network’s latest campaign to help guide parents along the child development journey. A new animation highlights Raising Children Network’s information about child development, aims to equip parents to spot any developmental concerns early and encourage them to seek professional help for anything that is worrying them.

Development information

Raising Children Network’s developmental information is split into the following stages:

  • newborns
  • babies
  • toddlers
  • preschoolers
  • school age
  • pre-teens
  • teens

Our focus on building parents’ capacity to support their child’s development has included other initiatives including translating key child development content into 10 community languages, creating a suite of resources for professionals including videos and posters covering child development from 0-2 years, and developing activity guides with play ideas for children with diverse abilities.

We know that 85 per cent of parents look online for parenting information, but it can be hard to know where to go for trustworthy information. The parenting tips and tools on raisingchildren.net.au and our other digital channels are ad-free and have been developed in collaboration with our extensive network of experts, ensuring parents are getting practical advice they can trust.
