The Raising Children DVD would not have been possible without the generous time given by the families who appear in our film clips. Find out more about them here and watch their behind-the-scenes videos.

Tony: “I’m the stay-at-home dad and Heather’s gone back to work. That arrangement works really well for us.”

Gavin: “Our four kids – Harley, Logan, Saxon and Ruby – are only three years apart in age, which means our house can get a bit hectic, especially around bath and dinner time.”

Sarah: “We live near the football oval with our three boys, George, William and Ashton. The boys all want to be footy stars when they grow up.”

“I was nearly 40 when I had my first baby and it was love at first sight. We have two daughters, Poppy and Sadie.”

“I had my daughter, Allirah when I was just 20. Now I have my son, Ashtyn, too and I reckon the most important thing for kids is to be shown affection and know they’re loved.”

“We were really young when we had our first baby, Mikayla. We both had to grow up and change our lifestyles practically overnight. Now we have baby Mitchell, too.”

“I was 18 when I had Zoe, the first of my two kids. I went back to study when my youngest, Aiden, went to school. My mother, the kids’ grandmother, has been a really great support to me and the kids.”

“I’ve brought Trey up pretty much since he was born. I was only 18 and my folks thought that was too young. But me and Trey live with my dad and stepmum and I think we’re all doing ok!”

Alice: “Me, Kosta and Hope live in a flat at the back of my parents’ house. I work in a childcare centre, so I take Hope to work with me. Kosta is a carpenter.”

“I had Seth when I was 19, and when I was pregnant I really didn’t think I was old enough or ready to be a mum. Now I couldn’t imagine life without him.”
