Hi everyone
Just wondering how much your baby eats. My daughter is 7.5 months old. She has two solid meals per day (which seems to be the standard amount from what I have read. Plus 4 bottles of formula per day. The formula package says she only needs 3 bottles per day, but my daughter is so hungry. Just wondering if I should cut out one bottle and increase her solid feeds to three meals per day.
Any thoughts?

Hi there, my son is the same - a very hungry bub! From 7 months he was on 3 solid meals a day, plus 4 bottles a day and water. He's now 10 months old and we've only just been able to drop a bottle, but have had to increase solids, so now he's on 3 meals a day plus morning and afternoon tea! We've also increased his carb content to make him feel fuller longer, so he's eating pasta, cous cous and bread with each meal. He much prefers solids to the bottle though and sometimes will even refuse his lunchtime bottle in place of more food. I've just increased his calcium intake through daily serves of yogurt and cheese, and making sure he drinks plenty of water with his solids. Hope that helps

Following foosa are suggested for 7 month old baby:-
• Iron fortified rice cereal mixed with breast milk, formula or cooled boiled water.
• Vegetables (pureed) such as potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot, broccoli, peas, zuchini.
• Stewed apples, peaches, pears, apricots (no extra sugar).
• Mashed soft avocado.

| Until about 12 months breast/formula milk is still the most important food for babies, so I'd suggest caution swapping milk for solids. An alternative might be to offer a smaller serve of solids after each milk feed. That way you know your baby has recieved the full value of a milk feed, and then has the chance to explore and fill up on solids after that. If you are concerned about how much your baby is eating, I'd suggest first checking your baby's growth and weight with your child health nurse and discussing your concerns.

Hey there, my son is 10 months old. He also loves to eat now. He now eats 3 solid meals a day plus I think 3 to 4 bottles of milk and water.
We don't mind him eating a lot since he's also fond of moving around the house with his walker.

| No one has said *HOW MUCH* their baby is eating... please give quantities! My 8-mth-old BF baby only eats 100g a day at the moment... I want to know how this compares to other babies!
