Bolts are there for security and stability, most modern cars right now have different reinforcements but still they incorporate bolts to support these reinforcements. I got a large Mr Gasket Bolt for my car seats because my toddlers are too playful.

Hi. I have a 2 and a half year old and 8 week old twins. We have a 2006 model hatchback Mazda 6 which we can fit 3 car seats in. We have a Mother's Choice car seat for our toddler, and 2 Compaq car seats for the twins. The Compaq's were $320 each from Bubs Baby Shops but they are slimmer in design to other baby car seats on the market, so all 3 car seats fit in no worries!

Hi there- we went for a Toyota Tarago- mainly for the 8 seats and the good reputation they have- reliable and economical.

There are many cars out there to choose from- so goodluck. I found it weird driving my tarago after driving a hatchback for 13yrs- I felt like i was driving a TANK in the military- LOL- I am used to it now and I enjoy sitting up higher off the ground.... LOL

I have a 5.5yo and a 3.5yo who sit on the backseat in their booster seats. In the row of seats behind the parental seats(driving&passenger) we have our 15mo twin girls. The car can seat 8 people- so we have a gap  between each set of kids for toys, books, etc.

It is surprising which cars can actually fit 3 car seats. Our 2003 Subaru Outback (a very narrow midsize car) could fit 2 Infa Vario Kid boosters and a Safe N Sound Compaqs. Our 2010 Subaru Liberty could fit a Safe N Sound Meridian AHR and 2 Safe N Sound Hi Liners. My advice is not to simply measure the back seat and assume nothing can fit because, for example, in our Liberty, the middle seat has a hump that pushes the middle car seat forward slightly so 3 seats, that seem like they shouldn't be able to fit based on a simple calculation, do actually fit. If you can visit a Baby shop or Kidsafe (in Queensland or ACT), you can actually try it out and you might be surprised to find something that fits. I managed to get 3 Safe N Sound Compaqs into a Hyundai Getz! I didn't think it would work but I happened to have 3 Compaqs and a friend who was pregnant with twins and already had a toddler dared me to see if I could get them to fit! All combinations probably should be checked by a qualified child restraint fitter though just to make sure. I did come across this site http://www.motherwrites.com/content/which-cars-fit-3-or-more-car-seats which lists some more that can fit 3 or more car seats which may be of interest.

I have a friend that is going through the same situation and I sugested that the buy the Britax Frontier 85 for the older child as it will see hi through to booster seat.
As far as the car is concerned they have just bought a mid size toyota that has 3 harness points accross the back.

cheers
