Join the Australian Multiple Birth Association - here's their website http://www.amba.org.au/index.php click on 'Expecting Multiples'. Hopefully you will receive the support you need.

Hi! First of all congratulations!
I have four children - 6 yr old daughter and almost 3 yr old triplet boys.
One of the first things i did when i found out i was preg with triplets was to cry with shock! ...then i got in touch with the Multiple Birth Assoc and it was the best move i made.
I live in SA and the support group of families with triplets is amazing. I've since made wonderful friends thru the group.
I also made enquiries about getting some help - friends and family mean well but they too have their own lives to lead. So, i found that the govt. will subsidise a certain amount( child care rebate) for us to hire a nanny and that too was the best move - particularly for the first few months at NIGHT! Night help was great as it helped me cope through the day with the extra sleep I was able to get. So contact centrelink and they can give you some advice.
As for the crazy life you will now forever have...it's tiring but AMAZING - consider yourself lucky.
They make us scream with frustration but they also help you to laugh.
Oh and routine, routine, routine. The hospital should help you to implement this and let me tell you it keeps you sane. The boys are in bed by seven with a bottle and we close the door and say goodnight - they now sleep through the night -if all is well!
Whatever you do, try not to get into the habit of cradling them to sleep.
Having said all this - go with your instincts - no one thing is the right thing - just do whatever you need to do to get through.
Good luck!

We found out we are expecting triplets about a week ago. Was a total shock as there is no history of it and we weren't using any kind of fertility treatment. Twins I think I would have been just excited but triplets is just mind blowing. We are just focusing on it being a blessing to have been given 3 instead of just one and reminding ourselves that the universe does not give you what you do not deserve or can not handle so even though I'm pretty scared about the thought of having three tiny babies all at once, I am keeping faith that somehow we will find a way to make it work. We are due mid December but as multiples usually come early we are hoping for late November - early December. Hope it calms down for you soon.
