| Hi, I have a 4 month old baby. For about 10 days now her poo has been green. It started off being yellowish green and after a few days it turned green and for the last 2 days it has been dark green. It was very watery until a few days back and now more mucousy. The paediatrician mentioned that he wasnt too concerned and it was caused by over feeding. However, she had her 4th month vaccination 2 days back and ever since she has been a bit cranky and crying more often than usual. She has absolutely no appetite and struggles to even down 60ml for a feed. I am very worried now. My supply has almost stopped completely and have had to put her on formula since morning. She doesnt seem to want any milk at all and refuses to feed on me more than a min or 2.

It may be the vax, it may actually be the formula. If she's been exclusively breastfed, a single bottle of formula can sometimes upset their little tummies and give them the runs, with green poo. If you're still breastfeeding- just keep feeding, every time she looks at you, or looks remotely hungry, and your supply should return back to what it was before, and the green poo will most likely clear up.
You can ring the ABA helpline - look up Australian Breastfeeding Association- they have a 24 hour free helpline to help with any questions about breastfeeding.

| hi, this probably isnt going to be much of a help, but my son (4mths) has been exactly the same since his 4mth vaccine. He is bottle fed but not drinking nearly enough and very unsettled and even looking like he is in pain. Im thinking it might have been the vaccine, especially since you are having similar problems. Im just going to see what happens in a few more days (will be a week on wed since vaccine) and see if he settles down. hope this gives you more peace of mind

The vacine can put them 'off', but to keep breast milk supply up, try to express. Feed the expressed milk back to them to top up their feeds (trying to advoid formula). The nurses at karatane are good to talk with about it all, or the health care clinic nurse where you have bubs weighed.
