Dear Parents

There is a focus group being held for mothers of children with ADHD.

The aim of this focus group is to allow parents the opportunity to talk about their experiences of social disapproval. Many parents experience social disapproval from family members, strangers, doctors, and their spouse due to having a child with ADHD.

This is a topic that has been largely ignored by practitioners, program developers and so forth. The more we can find out about parents experiences, the better equiped we will be to develop resources and programs that help parents like yourself.

At the focus group mothers will be asked to complete a questionnaire and then discuss the relevance of the social disapproval questions to the experiences of mothers who parent children dispalying ADHD behaviours.

As a token of appreciation, parents may choose to go in the draw to win either a $50.00 Myer voucher or a Hoyts Family Movie Pass.

If you would like to come along, the focus group will be held on Tuesday 9th June 2009 between 6.30 and 7.30 pm at the George Burnett Leisure Centre, Meeting Room 3A, Manning Road, Karawara.

Please RSVP by Friday 5th June by calling Larnie on 0433 362 039.

I hope to see your there!

Hello

The focus group has been moved to the 23rd June, instead of the 9th June. If you would like to be involved and cannot make the meeting, then call me or go to www.parenting-and-adhd.vpweb.com.au , click on 'contact us' and leave your details, and the questionnaire will be mailed to you.

Thanks
