my son recently slept through the night for the first time and he's just turned 21 months old. my aunt told me that my cousin didn't sleep through the night till she was 5 years old. it's normal for kids to wake at night for many many different reasons until they are of school age. we go through pregnancy thinking about how our babies will be these beautiful sleeping beings but it's sooooo far from the truth, haha. my son still goes through stages of waking up all night long when he's teething/sick/reaching a developmental milestone and many other reasons. a book that i found amazingly helpful was 'sleeping like a baby' by pinky mckay. it's a very baby friendly approach, gentle and kind. don't worry about what the babies in your mothers group are doing or what your friends and family say, your baby is unique and will do her own thing, she'll sleep well when she's ready, it can be really hard on us parents (the sleep deprivation) if it gets too hard there are options like co-sleeping (that's what ended up working out fantastically for us).

Shubh, you do realise this is the newborn forum and it's not reccommended by the WHO to feed babies solids until the 6 month mark?

You're doing a great job with your bub, and don't worry, they do eventually sleep through, but as to when, it really varies with every baby. As long as your bub is happy and well looked after, job well done!
