Hi Matt - how you going?

I did contact the Kirribilli group (or their venue) and they are now defunct.  I also took the plunge and am now the main carer for my daughter - it's been great fun so far.

I decided to try and get something going myself and I have a few takers.  Having chatted to a few mothers, it really needs a core group of 5 to keep this going.

So are you still interested?

Cheers,

Martin

Hi there, I'm a stay at home dad with 4 kids under 5 (thankfully one is starting school in January!).

We are living in Melbourne now but moving to Northbridge at the end of this year, so I'd be very keen to get involved.

I'm part of the "East Melbourne Fathers Group" here which is basically a group of 10+ guys who get together at a park with their kids every second Tuesday. We use an e-mail list and a page on my website (www.careerdad.com) to post details of each meeting.

The website is not really complete, but I might get stuck back into it when I move up north as I have some ideas for how to make it a lot better.

Keep me informed if a group is forming there. I bet if we look around there are probably already 4-5 dads' groups in the area.

Katrina,

I suspect a lot of stay at home dads groups eventually fizzle if they don't continue to get new members, as once kids start school a lot of dads go back to work.

I have a site for stay at home dads at www.careerdad.com and a blog about related topics at www.careerdad.com/wordpress/

There is a discussion forum etc. but it's just getting going.

I'm located in the North Sydney area and I'm looking at setting up a stay at home dads group here. I was part of a really good group, over 10 guys, in Melbourne and they are still active, there is a link to their group on my site.

I'll make contact and hopefully we can get something going if it isn't going already!

Hi,

I'm interested in meeting other SAHDs. I'm the father of 2 1/2 year old twin girls and they attend preschool 3 days a week. I've been caring for them for almost 18 months now, and it has been a pleasure to bond and enjoy the unconditional love. It would be good to chat to other dads and trade stories. I'm looking for a group in the Hills of Sydney, and would certainly be up to organizing one, if there are enough takers.
