I'm suffering from twin shock. I have just moved in with my lovely partner and her kids from a previous relationship and my daughter on the weekend - a mini brady bunch.

Amongst the hoard is a pair very cute 4 year old twins - or so it seems!!!!

One is an angel, one is the devil and the later is having a great time getting the angel into trouble. When you ask who just broke all the crystal wine glasses they point fingers at each other. Twins plus developing the ability to lie - joy!!!

Sadly the kids and my partner fell victim to family volience and their father is no longer in the picture. They have learnt alot of bad behaviour from their father and it is taking sometime to undo the damage. I'm open to suggestions to helping their mum straight out and support these cuties. I feel very limited in what I can do - but I love them all.

See my comments in the Toddler thread about waking at 5.45-6.00am each morning.

Hi all,

I too have boy/girl twins. They are 14 months old and I find each day just amazing. They were born at 30 weeks but have never looked back and I just love being a mum to twins. I also work almost fulltime as an Assistant Principal in a Primary School but we are lucky enough that their dad stays at home with them. It's a little more challenging than he ever imagined but I know he enjoys it.

I am in Adelaide and would love to hear from others, especially anyone that knows of a weekday playgroup or "dads" group that my partner and our twins could be part of. Look forward to any replies.

Anita

Hi there I know I'm a bit slow but have just found this forum I'm a SAHM to 2 1/2 year old boy/girl twins and also from Adelaide. Some of you may know of me I'm the coordinator for the Two Plus and Us Group for the North Eastern area at Sunnybrook Community House. My twins names are Harry and Kirra and my name is Jo.

I have noticed a few from Adelaide on here so feel free to ask me any questions/queries about the twins group.

Two Plus and Us group runs every 2nd Monday from 9:30 till 11:30 at the Sunnybrook Community House which costs $2 a family.

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Only a woman can give birth of a child, it’s a great gift of God. Some time a woman deliver twins baby, while delivering the baby it’s create some trouble in the time of delivery. You are so right about twins not being double trouble, and that is one of the comments that get my goat a treat.  Twins are definitely more than twice the fun of a single, but I definitely think that only special people are blessed with multiples, and really special people get multiple multiples!

Hi guys!

I am a lucky young mum with 2 boys, 9 and 2 and am expecting twins in August. We are very excited about it but are having a lot of trouble getting any information on Twins in Australia. Most the books i have found are either American or Brittish and most of the points they make dont apply here or are just really outdated... I have read 'A Contented House With Twins' but found myself wanting to hurl the book out the window I have also read a US book that i cant even recall the name of but it just lists tips and hints. I'm really looking for a fully Australian book that covers the stages of pregnancy for twins and then continues on to all the normal aspects that parents want to know but specifically tailored for twins. If anyone knows of any such book i would absolutly love to get my hands on it. If no such book exists i guess i will have to write the damn thing myself... Any offers of help appreciated

Hi Supagirl,

I have a three year old little girl and 12 1/2 month old Boy/girl twins.  I searched high and low to find a book when pregnant with the twins. I finally found an Australian book called 'Twins' A practical guide to parenting multiples from conception to preschool by Katrina bowman and Louise Ryan. It is excellent and I have read it from cover to cover several times and still flick through it now. Hope you find it and I hope you find it as useful as i did. Good luck for the coming months.
