I was seeing a specialist just before I got pregnant and he hadn't diagnosed the pain properly yet. First they thought it was Rheumatoid Arthritis, but then a second blood test came back negative. Because of the hormones that a released during pregnancy, we probably wouldn't get proper results if we did anymore test. So I will have to wait till bubs is born on the 7th April to make another appointment.

I've had a lot going on in the last month or so. The house we are renting is up for sale. My pain has increased along with the size of my belly. We are going through some financial hardship at the moment to. Along with that the real estate is putting pressure on me to present the house better than I am now. All this has all sent me over the edge. I've had to go back on anti-depressants. Because of the stress to I haven't been sleeping, so I've also been given sleeping tablets.

It will all get better soon. I just cann't wait to hold my beautiful little girl and bring her home.

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

If you ask my son (22 months old) if he is going to have a brother or a sister, he says sister. Then if you say are you going to have a sister or a brother, he says brother....whatever we say last! It's very cute.

I'm pleased your health is looking good. It's hard enough being pregnant and dealing with your other kids and housework, let alone when your health is suffering. At least you and your family are aware of your depression so you can recognise it when it rear its ugly head again. I think I may suffer depression at times but always seem to manage to pull through in the end. My father has it, actually I think he's more bi-polar than anything but getting him to the docs is like pulling teeth, old school mentality.

So has your pain been diagnosed as anything in particular?

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

I only found out the sex of bubs because DH and DS had their hearts set on a boy. I had a feeling it was a girl. They were a little disappointed at first, but are now looking forward to bubs coming along. DD 3yo, when you ask her who's in mummies tummy she says "sister", it's so cute. With DD she wouldn't open her legs in the 20 wk ultrasound, so she was a surprise. But again I was pretty sure she was a girl even before she came out.

I suffer from Chronic Pain and have problems with Depression. I had been working my way to going back to employment, but got pregnant which put all of my medical treatment on hold for 9 months. But hopefully by this time next year I will be back to where I was with my health and hopefully be able to pick up some part-time work. I miss working so much, but most days I wouldn't be much use to any employer.

My health problems aside the pregnancy itself is going well, bubs is healthy, growing well and I've had no pregnancy related health problems (blood pressure ect).

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

Me too. Starting to get too big for most of my clothes so down to the bare essentials now. And it's an effort to get dressed and all those basic things.

We don't know what we're having. Were going to find out but decided at the last minute to keep it a surprise.

Are you working at the moment? I've got about 7 weeks of work left and counting. It's only 3 days a week though so not so bad. In our team of 7 at work, 3 of us are pregnant, due in April May and June. So it's gonna be baby central!

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

Yeah, I'm not thinking about the c-section yet. But I cann't wait, so uncomfortable at the moment and it's only going to get worse lol. I just want my beautiful girl in my arms.

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

oooh we're close. I'm having mine on either 5 or 8 April! Unless I have cholestasis again in which case it will be two weeks prior to that.

How are you feeling about it? I'm trying not to think about the whole process too much. No going in blind, but why think about the procedure unless I really have to!

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

I'm having a c-section to. I was far more active and mobile than my two friends that had natural deliveries with vaccuum extractions.

I only took panadol after day 2 and just went slow - it was nowhere near as bad as I thought.

I had no issues with healing at all.

Infact my ceaser was so good that I am fighting with myself over what to do next time - I feel like the ceaser was so easy that I might like to do it again, but also wouldn't mind giving a natural a whirl if given the chance!

I guess I will get to decide when the time comes.

Good luck with your decision - no matter what you decide make sure you are doing your pelvic floor exercises now!

BreeC

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

Thanks for your stories ladies.

I wasn't incontinent after my first baby but there were some very close misses of wetting my pants in public but somehow managed to make it through. But it took me a very long time to gain stronger pelvic floor muscles.

Any type of incontinence is awful, but I'm terribly worried about the bowel part. Danabi that sounds like a terrible delivery and I feel for you. I had to have surgery to sew me up as well and because it was right to the anus they said there were concerns for incontinence from both ends. Not to mention, the discomfort of having sex for months and months on end.

I'm terrified at the thought of that being long term, but also I know there are so many pros and cons for both types of deliveries. I have plenty of time to mull it over but man it's a difficult decision.

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

I had a shocking delivery with my son (he was very stubborn) and ended up getting cut right round to my bottom to get him out. Lots of stiches and 3 months of not being able to sit down it healed!! I had another baby 2 years later and initally incont was a bit of a problem, so I just had to make sure my bladder was emptied frequently. It did get better with time and since started riding my horse again I now have to remind myself to go. It will improve. Good luck!!

RE: Have you experienced a third degree tear?

At 24yrs of age, i had ryan via a c-section. I was terrified as hell during the operation; as i was expecting a normal delivery but had to resort to a c-sec as an emergency.
I hope whatever option you deliver your baby through, turns out good and less painful for you.

Take care.

Have you experienced a third degree tear?

Hello

Did you experience a third degree tear during your natural delivery? I would like to hear from you if you have had since had further children.

I had a third degree tear with my first child. I am now pregnant with my second. I have just returned home from a hospital appointment with the doctor and she asked me which path I would like to take, natural or caesarean. Obviously there are risks or potential complications with each one.

But the key word that is sticking in my mind with a natural birth and another third degree is.....incontinence.

So, if you had a third degree and since had more children, I'd like to hear about what choice you made and any consequences that you may have experienced.

I look forward to hearing from you.
