Hi Dave,

I have my first child on the way (only a four weeks left) and I am also gaining two step-kids from her as well. I'm excited for my daughter to arrive, but I am very nervous about the family deal. I hope things for you are going well.

Hi there every one
my name is Phil and dad to a 5 yr old boy just starting kindy, didnt know it was going to be this full on but worth every minute. Mum does most of the work with him as i work a fair bit but i spend as much time with him as possible. looking forward to chatting to other dads and getting some info and maybe passing on some.. cheers Phil...

I guess I should put my 2 cents worth in.
I have three. Girl 7 going on 77, girl 4 going on 44 and a boy 15 months who insists on using my head as a soccer ball at 6 in the morning.
What's the best thing about being a dad? Snuggling up with mum.

I'm a StayAtHome Dad living under the difficult conditions of "Separated but Living Under The Same Roof" That situation is recent. I have a 13yo daughter, and I undertake the majority of day-to-day care. My wife works. Now that we are separating, she considers me a free-loader, while I disagree and believe I contribute a significant amount of so-called unpaid household care.

In many ways, even though the original agreement for me to stop working to switch roles was entered into willingly, I find this current situation has now strangely transported me back in time to the 1950's, where unpaid house-hold duties were looked down upon and considered unworthy of recognition. The treatment feels the same but the big difference of course is that I am male and it's now 2011

I am the proud father of Jade, a less than 1 week old baby Girl i am here and interactive on the forum and with my daughter in her early days. I also look forward to hearing from other fathers with there experiences.

Hi All!
I have just become a dad on the 15th. What an exciting time! Don't get me wrong it has been a huge challenge and learning curve but every day just gets better and better. Might take a while to get used to the sleepless nights but hey, its all worth it in the end seeing your little one grow up.

My main concern at the moment is returning to work and not being able to be there for my wife during the day when she needs. But then I remember she has access to other support from her mum and I can still do my part at night.

Will be good to hear everyone's experiences of become a dad!

hi guys, i'm expecting to be a dad in about 4 weeks when our son is due to arrive. very excited and busy looking after my partner. it would be good to see some other dads chatting.
I'm reading Being Dad which is a great book written for blokes.

Best of luck Brett, glad to see you are looking forward to the birth of your child. Have not found any support from men on this site, only a few comments. I have had contact from several very helpfull women who have offered some great tips, hints and some support.

I voiced my opinion once and was attacked by several women, so i wont comment any more and just view this site to help with my childrens growing up. It is helpful but not for men to be a part of as there is not many of us on here.

Hi Dave i've just signed up on the forum i'm a father of 2 wonderfull boys a 8.5 mth old and the other will be 5 in Oct, he is currently in the process of getting a DX for what seems like pdd-nos but will not know till about Nov-Dec.I am not a single father but thought i'd reply to your post.

Obviously not too many men folk here, judging by the response. There seems to be a couple of blokes contributing on other sections of the forum, but none on this area.

Please guys stand up and type, its not that hard.

I love my kids and would like to hear from other single fathers on any subject.
