Victoria is the program director of early childhood program the graduate entry Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) (MBCG) in the School of Education at the University of South Australia. She is also a senior lecturer in child development.

Victoria has been staff member at the de Lissa Institute and the School of Education since 1995. Prior to this, she was a staff member at the Salisbury Campus with the School of Education.

Victoria is currently the Chair of the Management Committee at the Adelaide Lady Gowrie Child Centre at Thebarton. She spent four years living and working in Canada, teaching grade school, completing a Master of Arts degree and teaching at the University of Victoria, British Columbia. She graduated with a PhD from The Flinders University of South Australia in 2000.

She has previously worked as a teacher for a number of years in the northern and southern suburbs of Adelaide. She taught all years from Reception to Year 7 during this time.

Victoria is a member of the editorial advisory board for the parenting magazine Wondertime. She reviews articles for a number of journals and provides feedback to the Raising Children Network.
