Recognising that a substantial gap exists between what scientists know and what parents practise, Talaris has adopted a programmatic approach to translate scientific knowledge into tools for parents and other caregivers.
At the core of all Talaris’s work is the mission of advancing knowledge of early childhood learning and the importance of parenting. The Institute believes it all begins with providing parents, caregivers and parenting professionals with information they can trust, understand and use in their daily interaction with children.
The Institute’s goal is for parents and caregivers to understand that:
- learning begins at birth
- the foundation for lifelong learning and relationships rests on the social and emotional development from birth to age five
- the parent-child relationship is the most essential factor in a child’s healthy development.
Talaris was founded in 2000, and is located in the US.
Talaris supports the Raising Children Network
Talaris supports the Raising Children Network in providing useful, practical information to parents including an easy-to-use guide to child development from birth to five years of age.
