St John's logo

St John Ambulance Australia is a self-funding charitable organisation active in all states and territories, dedicated to helping people in sickness, distress, suffering or danger.

St John Ambulance is Australia’s largest first aid trainer, teaching practical lifesaving skills to around a quarter of a million people each year.

St John Ambulance has around 10 000 first aid volunteers who provide first aid coverage at public events and wherever crowds gather. Volunteers include juniors (8-10 years), cadets (11-18 years) and adults. Other volunteers are involved in providing other community care support services and awareness programs.

St John Ambulance and the Raising Children Network

St John Ambulance kindly allowed Raising Children Network to reproduce some of their select materials on this website.

In addition, Raising Children Network and St John Ambulance worked closely together to produce some other reference materials for first aid in the Parenting in Pictures section of the website. These have included easy-to-use information for parents on choking, first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for both infants and children.
