Sara Stelfox has been a midwife for 15 years. She has special interests in helping women prepare for birth and parenting, and in caring for women, their babies and their families in the days after birth.
Sara also works in nursing and midwifery university education, which gives her the opportunity to teach students who will be the future of woman-centred midwifery care.
Sara’s research interests include teaching and learning quality, and transition to the parenting role. Sara is currently undertaking research into the effects of separating a mother and her newborn baby in the days immediately after birth.
