Dr Rhonda Brown is a family therapist and nursing educator with a background in family therapy, counselling, community and mental health nursing, academic and community education. She is also an experienced clinician and educator with extensive experience working with lesbians and their families.
Rhonda currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Mental Health at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Deakin University.
Rhonda’s research interests include same-sex parented families and the health of lesbian and bi-sexual women. She is currently involved with a longitudinal study of Australia same-sex parents ‘Work Love and Play: Diverse family life in Australian and New Zealand’.
In 2010, she completed her PhD in which she explored the experience of lesbian non-birth mothers and in particular the meaning and language of their relationship, both inside and outside the family.
