An orthopaedic surgeon is a specialist in the treatment of bone, joint and muscle problems such as arthritis, fractures, infections, and abnormalities such as scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and club foot.

Paediatric orthopaedic surgeons help children who have these problems from birth, during growth or resulting from injury. An orthopaedic surgeon can give you advice and offer a range of treatments for your child’s health problems. Treatments can be quite complicated and may involve bracing, surgery or both.
