Netty's World is a website designed to teach young children how to use the internet safely. While they play in Netty's World, they learn important messages about internet safety in an interactive and safe environment.
Netty's World is designed for young children (aged two to seven) starting out on the internet. The site was developed by NetAlert, Australia’s internet safety advisory body.
Parents are encouraged to take children through the online storybook, Netty's Net Adventure. In the story, important internet safety messages are revealed through five adventures. These five forget-me-not messages are Be Nice, Get Help, Think Again, Stay Safe and Secure, and Protect What’s Private. They are the safety messages young children need to remember when using the internet.
After discovering Netty's Net Adventure, children can explore the Fun and Games section of the website, where the five forget-me-not messages are reinforced.
Children can also join Netty's Club online (a parent must fill out and sign the registration form). As club members, they receive free gifts in the mail, such as bookmarks, stickers and pencil holders. These goodies help remind children of the five forget-me-nots they learn in
Netty's World.
