A graduate of Macquarie University (NSW), Kerri's academic interests focus on child and adult development, disability, loss and grief, narrative therapy, psychological issues confronting marginalised groups in society, and qualitative research. Kerri completed her research theses on the experience of tertiary study for students with disability, and the experience of motherhood for women with physical disability.

Kerri has held various professional positions, including academic research assistant, supervisor of tertiary students and thesis examiner.

Kerri currently works as a Project Worker with the NSW Network of Women with Disability and the Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association NSW (MDAA). Kerri's life experience is informed by her own physical disability/chronic illness.
