
June McLoughlin has held the position of Director of Policy and Service Development at the Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH), Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne since 1999. In this role she carries leadership and management responsibilities for the centre’s wide ranging activities concerned with child care, early childhood policy and service development.
Prior to taking up her current position at CCCH, she held a series of managerial roles in the Victorian Department of Human Services, leading to her appointment as Acting Assistant Director, Office of the Family. Before that she worked in early intervention, in both direct service delivery and policy development and implementation.
June has had a long and distinguished career in the early childhood, family support and children’s services fields. She has worked as a teacher, director, bureaucrat, researcher, trainer and manager, and an advocate and author, and says her experience in these roles has given her a broad and deep understanding of issues relevant to the needs of parents and their children.
Her formal qualifications include a Master of Education Studies from Monash University, a Bachelor of Education from the South Australia College of Advanced Education, a Diploma in Mental Retardation from Flinders University, and a Diploma of Teaching, Early Childhood from the State College of Victoria.
June has been appointed to a wide range community boards, councils and committees including the National Childcare Accreditation Council (Chair), the Parenting Research Centre (Chair), and the Stronger Families and Community Strategy Partnership.
