Associate Professor Jeff Walkley is a health behaviour specialist at RMIT University. He is renowned for his innovation in respect to linking research to practice change in areas including physical activity and disability, adolescent overweight and obesity, and fundamental motor skills among children.
He has a strong track record of creating and sustaining partnerships with industry partners and obtaining significant external funding to support research and postgraduate students.
Jeff’s work has impacted on government policy at state and national levels, as well as professional and community practice leading to improved opportunities for engagement in healthy behaviours among children, adolescents who are overweight or obese, and people with a disability in Victoria and Australia.
He has been the recipient of significant funding, and has been acknowledged through several research, industry and professional awards. His expertise is regular sought, leading to significant involvement nationally and internationally as a reviewer or publications and nationally competitive grants, and through invitations to join international collaborations in these areas.
