Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH)

A founding member of the Raising Children Network

The Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH) has been at the forefront of Australian research into early childhood development and behaviour for over two decades.

CCCH conducts research into the many conditions and common problems faced by children, such as obesity, language and literacy delay and behaviour concerns, that are either preventable or can be improved if recognised and managed early.

A major focus of the Centre is to synthesise, translate and disseminate the latest research so that it informs public policy, service delivery and professional practice. The Centre also focuses on supporting and strengthening community-based professionals and organisations in their work with families to bring about the best outcomes for children.

Professor Frank Oberklaid, a paediatrician and an internationally renowned researcher, author, lecturer and consultant, has been instrumental in the development of the Raising Children Network. Frank leads a team of over 90 staff from a range of disciplines including paediatrics, psychology, education, early childhood, public health and communications.

Michelle Mollard is the Translation Manager (Communications) for CCCH. She is also a member of the Raising Children Network's Executive Committee. Michelle leads the Translation team at CCCH, which ensures the Centre's research is disseminated to the broader community via engaging and accessible publications and websites.

Bianca Gazzola, Megan Keyes, Penny Miller, Kristina Link, Eliza Metcalfe, Ross Green and Simone Hoey are the project officers responsible for bringing you the Raising Children Network website.

CCCH is a department of the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, a research centre of the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and an academic centre of the University of Melbourne.
