Associate Professor Amanda Richdale

Associate Professor Amanda Richdale has been involved with the autism community and autism-related research for 20 years, beginning with PhD research with Professor Margot Prior. She has been involved with autism early intervention and with intervention in special schools, both at a practical level and via research.

Amanda’s research includes the development and implementation of interventions for children with autism and their families, sleep in children with an ASD and social cognition research. She has published widely, particularly in relation to sleep in ASD. She has also lectured on autism spectrum disorders to undergraduate and postgraduate students and conducted autism spectrum disorder assessments in her former role as an academic at RMIT University. 

Amanda regularly reviews for international journals and is a member of the editorial board for ‘Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders’. She is a member and current chair of Autism Victoria Professional Panel, and a member of the board of Management of the Educational Program for Infants and Children (EPIC).
